With the advent of the ‘Big Brother’ effect becoming more evident in today’s society, a story in the media
could potentially have more far reaching effects.
Today, the Swedish parliament will be voting on a bill that will allow the authorities to monitor (snoop) on telephone, email and fax communications.
OK, this isn’t strictly earth shattering news, as the US have been doing this type of monitoring for years, but Europe seems to be catching up and it will soon be on the cards for the UK no doubt.
Another area of ‘data gathering’ that may be quite interesting for some, and especially for those with Google accounts (I have an account), is ‘Google Web History’. By default, this will gather history on an individuals browsing habits to, quote, ‘provide a more personalised experience’. Mmmmm
Some of us might like this ‘personal’ experience, but it is not for me.
A decent website to keep up to speed with ANYTHING new in the online world is called, ‘REDDIT’. It works on a voting basis, therefore anything of interest in the online world can have a vote registered against the article and the article could potentially make the top 10, or even number 1!
As always, please leave a comment below….as Take That once sang, “It only takes a minute”.
