.…or is it, ‘Ying and Yang’. Either way, I have been given information by Steve Moore on an excellent social networking site called, ‘NING’. (OK, you can see where I was going with this, couldn’t you?)

Once thing that stands out about, ‘NING‘, is the fact that one actually gets to create ones own social networking site. With that in mind, I felt it would be rude not to try this out and see how this would actually work.

What I found was that other than the slightly annoying adverts that fill the right hand side of the page (NING have to earn their money some how), the site is actually very straight forward to set-up and there are many designs, gadgets, widgets and many other options already available for one to create the desired effect, thus making the social networking site relatively individual.

Another big plus, is the adverts can actually be turned off for a small fee, but considering what is on offer, this really is a small price to pay for what, in my opinion is really quite a nice little set-up.

My thoughts are currently with using the site to first play around and invite close family and friends to do what most social network sites do i.e. share photos, have discussions, share videos and much, much more. Once I am familiar with this, who knows, I may set-up something a little more collaborative in terms of opening up another site to the global communities.
